Hello everyone. I bought 3 hens with rooster before 2 weeks ( Brahma ) , I think they are old because them nails are long around one inch.
How can I know age of them?
Do you think they are going to lay eggs?

There is no really accurate way to tell the age on a chicken once it is out of the chick stage. You could try posting pictures of your flock and people might be able to tell you if they look on the young or old side. Toenails can grow pretty fast, especially if they are on wire or on bedding where they can't really scratch to wear them down. Even old hens usually will lay some eggs, but it may not be very many... this time of year a lot of hens in the US are also going into molt, they will usually quit laying for three or more months or even all winter if you don't put them under lights.

Thank you so much kelsie2290 for replying. I hope they lay eggs soon.
Good luck for you.
