How old before dust bathing?

My 3 week olds are in pine shavings in brooder. I put in a box with 1:1:1 sand, dirt and wood ash. I have set them inside several times but nobody is dust bathing. Any thoughts?

You can't make them dust bathe, they have to want to do it on their own. Some chicks may not start trying to dust bathe it until they're older. And sometimes they just want to pick their own spot to do it in.
