how old do muscovy ducks have to be to tell the gender?

These pictures are all of the same duck, it was born the first week of september

Muscovy's are the hardest to tell!!!! I had to wait until they got the red to tell and even then my girl duck is named Olly and my boy duck is named Poppy

I have had Scovies for going on 9yrs and i still have trouble every once in a while, usually around 4-6 weeks them legs the size of small trees will start to give the drakes away.

What a cute pair! Yeah, they probably win the award for hardest to tell... for me, i mostly get drakes so i know them unfortunately too well lol

Here are some more pics there not the best but its all i could get

Really hard to say, the pictures being so dark hide the legs and the overall shape of the bird. Drakes are hefty boys, they have bigger legs, feet and just overall mass. The girls are more delicate, petite and almost appear to have a 'girly' shaped head lol

Too young to say then.

How many weeks is it when the Muscovy drakes would have its big growth spurt that seem to get almost twice as big overnight? Mine were also hatched in the beginning of sept and its hard to tell the gender of them.
