I set mine back for 12 days-no less. Then I boil them in plain water, drain, then toss the eggs (still in pot) up in the air to crack them then fill the pot with cold water and let sit for about 5 minutes. Before I begin to peel, sometimes I'll roll the eggs crushing the exterior shell still leaving them in the water until they get peeled. Voila! Egg perfection!!
Haven't read all the posts so if I repeat, forgive me.
Boil water. poke a small hole in the bottom of each egg with a push pin. drop them one by one into the water. Boil for 10min. Turn off and let them sit another 10. Drain. Either cover them with cold water for 30 min. or pop them in the fridge overnight. Fresh eggs will peel with ease.
You dont need to age, you dont need to poke, you dont need salt, baking soda, magic beads, or anything. Simply do what was in the link I posted, or what Reinbeau posted above. Ive taken them straight from the nest to the boiling water and made gorgeous deviled eggs.
