I have a Mille Fleur d'Uccle who just started laying today.

She will be a year old in August and I want to hatch her eggs in the late spring. How long should she be laying or how old should she be before she starts laying eggs perfect for hatching?

Thanks!

New layers eggs are not consistent in size and shape for about a month, I would suggest waiting until the eggs you get from her are all relatively close in size and shape, then introduce her to a rooster and wait around 3 more days to insure her eggs are fertile, then start collecting the eggs for incubation. Make sure the rooster mates with her often, at least once a day.
