how old should a rooster be before putting him with new hens

I have a 13 week old cross bred rooster who has just started to crow. I am giving him to a friend of mine that has about 7 or 8 full grown hens. My question is- will my friends hen except him or attack him? What age should he be before he is put with the hens or can he be put straight in with them? I just really want the best for him as we have had him since he hatched and dont want to see him hurt.

Alot of that depends on his personality. If he is confident he shouldn't have any problems at all. If he is shy he may get picked on a bit but will eventually get over it as his hormones begin to rule.
