How she came to be, anyone?

I have a chick developing similar coloring from a paint father (dominant white and black) and red (autosomal I believe) mother. Hatched out looking like a paint and then the red started coming in.
It is 4 weeks old now. Has a few black spots as well.😊View attachment 3065273
Aww, they're gunna be a pretty one fs. Are they a silkie cross?

I only have the one Cochin bantam. She is very sweet and has an awesome personality. Entertaining little bird!
Actually a pretty decent layer though her eggs are very tiny, consistent with her barely 2 pound body size.

Keeping this little chick of hers too because her personality is very similar. This little chick was an accidental hatch, got mixed up with the Silkie eggs! I breed silkies. But I do have other breeds, just for fun!😊

Interesting, and yes you should definitely keep the little chick. I'd like to see how they turn out when they're a little older if possible as well.

Sure! One of the reasons I’m keeping this one is because the color is so interesting.
Had no red whatsoever at hatch, just a little ruddiness around face. She has a few black spots as well.

Yes, when I got that ee hen, there were many other ee's, but she was the only one of her coloring, stood out to me. The others were relatively the same color.
