How should I fix this hole in the Eglu Cube?

Hello,
I found this Eglu cube on craigslist and it has a part where the heat lamp she was using melted a hold through the outer wall. She said her chickens were fine in it after but I would like to try to fix it. I'm not particularly handy, and don't have a lot of tools, and of course, it is plastic. My thought was to put the patch on the inside so that the chickens wouldn't peck at it. Does anyone have any other/better ideas? Should I even bother or would I make new problems?

Bondo would be beyond my skill level. I went to four different hardware stores today looking for solutions. The best one finally seemed the simplest - gorilla tape. BUT I wonder if I've just made an entertaining game for the chickens to play - let's peck off the duct tape. They can't get to it when the door is shut and they are in the coop. When I actually looked close there were so many little pieces of plastic that they could have taken off I really felt I had to cover it all somehow. The guys at the hardware store swore that it would stick but I don't know.

A small tin patch bent to fit the contours of the Eglu held in place with contact cement would work with a spray of white paint hardly noticeable. Most of all chicken proof.

I don't know. Honestly they haven't touched my duct tape job so for now I'm happy to leave it as is. We'll see what happens as time goes by.
