Whereas I generally get two or three good looks at him a week, this year he is very secretive. I have only seen him at a distance and don't even know how large a rack he has; although, it is quite impressive.

hope it was not your deer,
but as i hunter i just got to ask why does everyone go after big horns? you can't eat them and the meat from them are a lot stronger then a smaller buck or doe? hate to say it but i go for small buck's as they have good meat or better meat then the old tough ones with big horns lol.
but am going deer hunting this coming weekend (mule deer) and i got to say they are smart, and tough to hunt. now not as tough to hunt as elk (as i also got drawn for them this year) and i mean you never see them.
