Hi, I have Easter Eggers (Auracana muts) born mid April. The roos are starting to bother the neighbors. I know they're not full grown, but they're going to have to go.

What do you think? Too soon? Voice box removal surgery?

8-12 weeks should be a good age for freezer meat.

The meat will be tender now. Much more than 14 weeks and they start to get tough.

I just finally decided to butcher 3 of the four Roo's we had. They were starting to get a little "pecky" [IMG] with the hens and with each other. They are OEG/wheaton Mix.

They were about 5 1/2 months so I hope they don't end up Too tough. [IMG] They only dressed out at about 2.5 pounds each.

Sent hubby into the coop to capture them, didn't want the hens or Roo we are keeping to dislike me [IMG]
