How to approach neighbours

That is completely logical. I can see where this guy could go through the motions of acceptance and then kill the whole thing from this location. There is a big picture look that needs to be maintained.
 
Yeah, if you already have one neighbor, who is against you, and presumably any thing you promote,
then you should not lead the Backyard-Chicken effort. It would be better that you to appear
as a completely neutral observer, or better yet, not appear at all.

This seems so obvious, I hope others can learn from it.
 
I must not have been clear - he isn't 'against everything' I promote. He's just uninformed and a huge windbag, and has been unreasonable in the past about other things. That was a couple years ago -maybe I'm an optimist but I was really hoping he'd have changed or grown up or something. And I'm not spearheading the bylaw change, I'm just one of many potential sites around town that wanted to be on the pilot project list. Anyway. I'll get hens when the bylaw changes and we'll see what he has to say about it then.
