How to break a broody?!

Its very sheltered and I have a dig skirt and all the wire on the outside is 1/2" wire. With this crate the holes on the bottom are large, but the sides and top are 1x3 squares. I may just place her on the roost after dark and back in the crate in the morning. She definitely isnt sitting in the crate lol And all the chickens have gathered around her.

They seem to all be... that's why I also have 1/2 inch hardware cloth zip tied to the bottom. I like Aart's wire type better though.

Yes... some of my ladies are crafty enough to reach through and grab bedding to pull in at night. But during the day they are too mad to worry about the ground. If you aren't having heavy winds this evening I wouldn't stress too much about leaving her right there since it does seem to be secured well. But do what will let you rest easiest this evening. :)

Interesting observation made by my daughter... I wondered if I don't let my ladies sit and lose condition why are they so shaky at day one it seems... She thinks that might be one way they maintain their broody temperature is by quivering.
