Here is how I made the bookshelf hutch. My bookshelf was approx. 6' X 18". I didn't put the measurements in the drawings because you could use whatever size bookshelf you had, or build one. Give the birds as much space as you can; they will be happier!

EDIT: I used screws and nails to attach the wood, drilling hole first. I also drilled a row of hole with a large drill bit on the sides for extra ventilation which is very important especially if this will be outdoors in the summer. Wood glue "wood" probably also work; IDK because I'm no expert!

bookshelves work great. i have gone many days, or the day before trash pick up to find bookshelves and convert them. Free and fast....the best way...
