My son bought me ducklings from TSC 2 weeks ago. I have raised chickens, but never ducks. I called TSC and they said my yellow ducks are pekin and the brown ones are mallard. I have six total. One of the three yellow ducklings stands upright and has a leaner body, would this be a runner duck? Two of my brown ones have stripes and the third one is all brown. What would the all brown one be?

They are growing like crazy with the exception of one of the mallards. This morning he is limping and can't bear weight on his legs. He is eating and when I put him in the water he will drink. He is tiny compared to the other ones. What can I do for him?

We never give ducklings swimming water. They bathe by dipping their beaks in the drinking water. We also watch for wet bedding.

what are you feeding them? Have you added niacin to their diet. Ducllinga need more than chicks and are prone to leg problems if they aren't getting enough. Brewers yeast is an easy way to ensure everyone is getting enough. Just sprinkle it over their food. Have you read this https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/750869/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings#post_10611711 ? It's a good place to start. If you have pics we may be able to help but I bet you have pekins, KC and rouens or mallards. A lot of stores say the get mallards when they actually get rouens.
