what i do is get a warm washrag and soak it good, sometimes dawn will help, and gently work it off, i have even dipped there little toosh in some warm water- once its clean, pat it dry and put some vaseline on there to keep it from getting stuck again- hope that helps

I just hold their rear ends under a stream of warm water in the sink while slowly picking it off. Pat dry and hit them with a hair dryer until fluffy again...

i just use a Qtip and vaseline..smear & try working it off...bit of tissue to help pull it off..careful not to pull too soon or too fast...after its off i smear on vaseline to prevent any more clinging. On day 3 i start my chicks on raw..not cooked rolled old fashion..not instant..oatmeal..just kind of crush in hands & sprinkle on top of feed...then on day 5 i add tiny bits of bread. along with chick starter..sand grit. also electrolite or even sugar in water. i only have the poopy bottom on chicks i order from hatchery....maybe one out of 150 that i hatch.never have i seen it with hen hatched & raised.not sure why it happens..but ..i have always thought maybe it has to do with chicks not drinking - eatting whilest in transit from hatch ..delivery & too my house...even tho it is said they dont need to eat first three days cuz they absord the yolk whilest in egg.... just makes me wonder why its the hatchery chicks ive seen it in.

I cleaned a couple of mine almost everyday at first. The ones I got the first day had several days of pasty butt. It was really bad on two of them, like 2 times a day at least. The three blacks and partridge i got a couple of days later have never had a problem. I'm down to one with pasty butt but , but it very mild right now so I am trying to limit the baths.
