Al..you are who YOU are.. and,i am who I am,.... my husband is very happy and so am i..as i said..if i had married a man that dictated my life it would be differant..i would not be married to him....JUST because thats things are done in YOUR home...dosent mean its right for everyone...i am an adult..i will live how i want...and get what pets i choose..its really that simple!..why are you stressing over it? does it offend you that a woman can make her OWN decisions in life and not cow down to her mate?

sometimes he does, sometimes he dosent....but..what he cares MORE about is me being happy...and, i try to do things for him that make him happy...it goes both ways...but he would never say no to something that i want...as i am not a child.. and hes not my daddy...

I am totally with you on this. My marriage is a partnership, an EQUAL partnership. He's sweet to me, I'm sweet to him.

To OP - I think you could start with one (I love my old 14 yo biddy cat, by the way), then get a second one later. If you are the one taking care of it, it shouldn't really matter. You aren't into "cat lady" territory until you reach double digits

I will talk to him about the second one. But even when he says no i still will get a senior or special needs cat. I have to break the 12 eggs in the bator first.

All I am saying is that you should consider his thoughts, she started be saying ( I broke him down !! ) what the heck is that, a house pet is something he will also have to live with and care for. now who is dictating in that house, BTW Things go just fine in our home because we discuss and talk and listen to each other, My DW is her own woman and has the decency to talk over such a big decision. It is just not fair that you gals can really gang up on a guy, it's like a feeding frenzy, this is not the man hater Oprah show. I was just trying to help the guy not be the biggest pet in that family, thats all. If she already BROKE HIM DOWN where's the need to rub it in and feel vindicated in the old Hen society.

i'm just a stubborn red head...my hubby knows it...has accepted it...and THATS why we work so well together...

...honestly though, she IS being respectful to him..she has not gotten the cat!..she was just asking our advice...BTW, i am not an Oprah fan...

...peace to you AL, i respect you!

I am having this thread shut down, its getting to far of course . My and my DH are equals. I let him have his harley and order even parts for him and help him to hang them on. He drives me in the winter to TSC to get feed helps me to load it. WE btw already had a cat before that we had to leave in Florida. He said doesnt like cats and yet he played with Tigger. He even feeds the ducks or checks their water. HE is just not a big fan of them. Breaking him down... i should have said "i finally convinced him"
