how to convince mom to get ducks

hello,
so we used to have two ducks, but they migrated and they came back last year, not this year!
I want to get some more but I'm having a hard time convening my mom. we have a lake and lots of chickens that the others got along with!

Chickens and ducks don't always get along, you got lucky, when I was young the eggs convinced my mom, kahki Campbell's are great duck breeds, not to mention ducks are great yard friends, pekins, kahki campbells, rouens, mallards, if you don't want per ducks to fly away buy flightless ducks.

Well the best course of action is to not beg repeatedly for ducks. Honestly, just show her you’re responsible.

But then again there might be a reason she doesn’t want more ducks.

Bantam ducks (calls, mallards, Black East Indies, etc) are the only breeds that can actually fly... get a larger breed and the flying away issue is solved

Ok. Do some research on some domestic duck breeds. Many of them cannot fly. If you want ducks to stick around and that aren't fully fenced, one of these breeds may work better for you. Generally speaking, the larger the duck breed, the lower it's capability of flying.

In terms of not getting along with chickens, I would propose purchasing sexed female ducks only. You will likely have less drama with the chickens, and you'll get eggs (bonus!). Since you have water nearby, the ducks will likely spend most of their time in/around the water and probably won't care too much about the chickens.

I'm not sure how much room they have, but the more space, the less drama (in any flock). Also I would provide the ducks a separate house to sleep and lay in as well as a separate feeding area. You saving money to buy them a house or taking initiative to build them a house might strengthen your case a bit too!

thank you so much I will bring this up with her again soon and I will defiantly with bring up eggs too! we sell chicken eggs so she would love to sell duck eggs!
