How to create a black crested white silkie from scratch?

Moorhead silver partridge idea:

What other genes would need to be discarded?

What colour silkie would be ok to breed into the line and not loss all the progress in the colouring?

Actually my bad.
White crested blacks are partridge or birchen based, not wheaten based.
Therefor the genotype you are aiming for is e^b/e^b, Co/Co, Db/Db, cha/cha, S/S or S-
So you need to eliminate the wheaten and keep the partridge gene.

How would i identify the wheaten based crosses and remove them from the breeding program? can i identify them as chicks? pics would help. thank you

if i did the lakenvelder cross which colour would be better to cross with white or black, grey or buff

It’s not quite rocket science… just pick the birds with the closest color to what you want and breed them. Partridge is recessive so wheaten will work itself out of the gene pool naturally as you select against if anyway.

Buff

could i breed with silver or buff later down the line to introduce new blood?

how can i limit inbreeding as I'm limited on space.
