How to create a Rhodebar

With a Rhodebar you can add a RIR hen to get more Rhodebars, and increase egg production...

To add egg production to Legbars, can you add a Leghorn to a Legbar, and get more Legbars?

No
If you cross to a leghorn you won't have legbars anymore. Although they have a lot in common there's also things they don't. They're two separate breeds and mixing them will just give you a mix.
Same is true with mixing rhodebars with RIR. The mix will not be rhodebars.

Nothing personal, but I found that recipe for Rhodebars online; and was planning on buying some: can you please post a source beside yourself, that says it doesn't work?

After reading about how we got Legbars, I kinda figured a white Leghorn wouldn't match with Legbars.

I'm still tempted to mix everything with White Leghorns..

No. I don't do sources.
Ive raised rhodebars.
I know a bit about genetics and I know theirs as well as RIRs.
You can knock yourself out going with that recipe but I was only trying to save someone from putting in the time and work and it not working.
Report back in a couple years and let us know how it went.

Cool, Mahalo nui loa for your time.

I'll double check the source I posted, and maybe I'll get some Rhodebars?

If not, I'm caring more about eggs than looks; and the leaves me with mixing Leghorns and RIR's.

So far all I have are Orlandsk Dwarfs, Silkies, Black Copper Marans and Black and Blue Birchens, with an excellent laying mutt that's been giving me and egg a day for a couple years, when she's not fostering chicks...

I have some Legbars chicks, and a Swedish Hen, some Blue and White Bresses an Austraulorp hen, and one little RIR chick too...

I don't know how I ended up with two kinds of Marans from Greenfire in exchange for three White Bresse; but as long as I get hens that lay eggs, I'll be happy.

They can be if you are working with the right genes but barred rocks crossed with RIRs don't have the neccesary genes.
