How to deter a mountain lion

Do you have a meter to test the voltage. If it's not at least around 7000 volts, it may not work well. Some predators may tangle with wire even thought it might tingle. I had something go through some electric wires once. My charger was faulty and was only putting out around 2000 volts. The wires next to the gate were knocked over and the gate opened by force. It normally opens out but when I discovered it the gate was pushed in. I didn't get a picture because it was extremely foggy that night, of course. What unluck. I have since replaced the fence charger and now it puts out around 9500 volts.
Hmm, I've never even thought of testing it. 🤔

We've had mountain lions in our area for many years, but they've never ventured too close to my property. Until now... I've had one roaming back and forth around the perimeter of my yard for several nights in a row. So far it has stayed on the outside of my fence... is there anything I can do to keep it on the outside?
call fish and wild life. they will trap it. we’ve dealt with that. it killed several sheep. they’ll trap it and end that problem.

Do know here there is people with tracking dogs that will track down large predators if they become a problem the ranchers use them for when their cattle are calving. Wild life has always been helpful when we have called them. Hot wire, solar sensor lights. Sound sensor will startle and alert you, For the bigger predators agree more then one dog is needed. My guardian dogs do more vocal deterrents for being enough for predators to swing wide us.
