Hmm, I've never even thought of testing it.Do you have a meter to test the voltage. If it's not at least around 7000 volts, it may not work well. Some predators may tangle with wire even thought it might tingle. I had something go through some electric wires once. My charger was faulty and was only putting out around 2000 volts. The wires next to the gate were knocked over and the gate opened by force. It normally opens out but when I discovered it the gate was pushed in. I didn't get a picture because it was extremely foggy that night, of course. What unluck. I have since replaced the fence charger and now it puts out around 9500 volts.
