I have 2 eggs that I am guessing should have or should be hatching very soon. How can I tell by candling if they are still alive in there?

I cannot see movement, but may be my eyes

Cannot see veins around the air sack.

The air sack takes up less than 1/2 of the egg.

These are under hens, not in an incubator.

Thank you.

You gotta keep up with how long your hen has been on them if you want to watch them that closely. You won't be able to see movement or veining this close to hatch time. Be sure to sniff each egg. If you really want to, you can place the eggs in a bowl of 100 degree water and watch them for at least a full 60 seconds. Wiggling means life. I would simply leave everything alone and check again in 3 days. Too frequent handling will cause temperature and humidity problems.
