How to dye a baby chick???

I want to know how to dye a baby chick with food coloring hehe

I think you dye them before they hatch....you inject something into the egg and then they're born dyed lol I read it somewhere...

I dye'd my silkies with food coloring as I couldn't tell them a part and was trying to decide who to keep. All I did was add the food color to a cotton ball and rub it on them.

It's a silly thing to do, but harmless unless you dip the poor things into pure ink or gallons of undiluted pigment based food coloring.

A tiny bit of water based food coloring mixed with water and applied with a cotton ball lightly, that's probably the best way to do it. Once. Then let the poor things be the color God designed them with.

I would do like PP did the silkies, put the food coloring on a cotton ball and gently rub the chicks feathers. I am hoping my naked necks are 2 different colors or I may have to do this to the head feathers, wouldn't the kids get a kick out of that, LOL.

Hey, there is at least one lady who has a bunch of videos on youtube. She makes costumes for and paints the nails of her chickens...She could have worse hobbies... ;-)
