The Crazy Chicken Lady
So as I am continuing to build the pens and hopefully finish them up soon for my new peas, I would really love to hear everyone's experiences, ideas and tips on how to move my peas to their new home here on my farm.
Do I move late afternoon or evening? Early morning?
Do I take this opportunity to introduce new breeding pairs or trios together? Or wait til they are more calm to introduce new ones?
We are only moving them about 2 miles so that isn't going to be very difficult but how do I keep from killing the poor dears once getting them moved here?
I have already lost one pea when her pen mates left. I don't know why she died but she had others beside her in another pen and wanted in there with them. After a week of making her neck raw by wanting in there I opened the gate and let her in. They seemed to do well with her but the few days later I found her dead. No attack marks visible. I don't want to lose any others to my ignorance.
