How to feed mixed age chickens?

Hi! I have chickens coming in May, and I plan to introduce them to my existing flock while they are still sort of small. Can they eat layer feed that I have in my run? Or should I change everyone to chick or grower feed?

Hi. The babies should not eat layer feed because of the calcium in it. Feed everyone grower feed and put a separate vessel out containing oyster shell for the layers. They will help themselves to what they need and the chicks should leave it alone. You do need to provide two sizes of grit though, one dish of chick grit and another of larger grade grit for the adults.
