I'm having a broody hen incubate some of my eggs at a neighbor's house. I gave her five eggs. I took them out today, after a week of incubation, and realized that two were cracked, but not badly. One had a small dent, and the other had a thin crack line. Neither were leaking and no parts of the shell were lost. I assume they already were or got cracked when I took them over there. I candled them today and they were all fertilized, so the embryos survived and are developing.
I read a little about how to fix cracked eggs. Candle wax seems to be the most common method to fix them, and I also read about using nail polish (I feel like it would be poisonous?). Any thoughts?
