I know exactly what you mean and I have no idea why some of them do this.When they spread their wings there are literally no feather - just the shaft of the feather

Make sure their swim pools have a way for her to get out. I've had a couple get so waterlogged that they couldn't hop out. Luckily I found them before they got too cold.No but for one of them it's so bad that if she jumps in the pool and takes a bath, after a while she will be soaking wet because she has no feathers to waterproof lol
Well you either trust my information or not. My Ducks are the same way.
