How to get my ducks to molt

We have gamebird feed... it's 24%. It's crumble though. Would it work?

Yes, give them some higher protein feed through the winter and see how it goes.

Well yea I realize that, but I didn't want to lock them up early (they are free range and they hate being locked up) if their was another solution that would help all of them anyway.

Instead of locking up early, put shade cloth on the windows and let them out a little later each morning.

Hmmm.... our coop is kind of non-standard lol. No windows per se... the roof is clear plastic. There is ventilation though.

OH! Sorry, I can't help with that. All my buildings have solid roofs and I can black out the buildings' windows to induce molt.
They'll molt eventually, they can't help it.

Yea... I have plans to build my flock a proper coop. We'll see how that goes Thanks for your help... I sure hope they do figure it out. I'll give them some more time and then I'll start giving them more protein

The higher protein will aid in feather regrowth, it won't induce molting.

I am still waiting for some of my ducks to molt this year Runners and Muscovy their feathers are a wreck I think the late warm weather is not helping.
