A police officer knocked on my door before 6am thismorning.
He said he just had to let me know that one of the neighbors was complaining that my rooster(s) woke them up all the time. He said there isn't any laws about keeping chickens/roosters (which I knew) but there is the noise ordinence

I told him it should be better soon coz we are going to eat some of them. He was nice, said he didn't really know what to do just said that he had to let me know.

Then I promptly let the dogs out so they could bark a little this mroning! Mwhahahaha
I think I'll take up a habit of mowing my lawn at 7am, and hey I've still got some logs around here to chop up....maybe I'll go crank up the chainsaw....

I know who it has to be. The newest people on the block. Coz the neighbors on both sides, and 2 of the houses across the street have told me either that they like my roosters or that they aren't bothered by them, so it HAS to be the brand new people who haven't said a single word to me. Talk about a good way to "meet" your new neighbors. I haven't even met them yet and I already don't like them

You are not alone.

Gotta love those neighbors.

ETA::: They should be happy with the roosters, its a good thing your not wanting to start raising Peacocks

I guess "good neighbors" make for "good neighbors." So thankful that I live in a rural area populated by considerate folk.

Gee!

How about extending the olive branch, instead of going on a noise making rip.

But I mean if you want to escalate the situation by all means go ahead. Figure you probably just joking anyhow. Cause ain't none of the good people here on BYC would do anything as spiteful as what you describe, right?

I do get so SICK of people that move into the country and then complain about things that are standard for in the country such as chickens or livestock, etc.

I mean if you don't like that stuff WHY MOVE TO THE COUNTRY!?

Go welcome them to the neighborhood with a dozens eggs and an invite for them to bring their kids over to see their feathered neighbors. If you get the taste buds and kids on your side, they will be less likely to make trouble. Be the nice one. Don't stoop to their level.

BTW, I lived in Miami renting a room from a gentleman that had about 15 peacocks. I loved their calls and have learned to imitate them. It is fun to bring out at parties.
