cornmeal, they will eat it, but they can't digest it. It will blow them up, w/o using chemicals.

Is this for real. Does it really work?????? I suppose I'd have to keep the chickens away until the ants got their fill.

Don’t know if this will work on outdoor ants, but I use a 1:1 mix of borax (20 mule team) and sugar or honey (I do about 1-2 tablespoons each) for house ants with as many drops of (boiling) hot water needed to make a syrup. Then I put it in pet proof containers, or a few bottle caps (it doesn’t take very much) and make sure they are out of reach (maybe lidded pill containers with ant sized drilled access holes in coop area? As long as chickens can’t open them anyway but with access for the ants) and are then left in the path of the ants. Sometimes this works within hours. I noticed especially when using honey I need to make a fresh batch nearly every month. They’re simply so many of them in our area I think by wiping one colony out it somehow means the vacancy sign has gone up in antworld for the next to move in.
