hey everyone, i live in the town of brookhaven and they have a law that limits the number of "poultry" on the property. they limit us to a little flock of 6! i can't believe it!! anyone have experience on how t change laws? thankss!!!!

Sounds like you need to start making friends of the councilmen/women. Maybe, even run yourself. Also, is anybody really looking and counting? Get yourself a dozen, see what happens.

If you get all the same kind and color, just let 6 out at a time! Who's to know?

Look up all of your city ordinances and rules, see it there are any other issues. Don't be afraid to write to your city councilmen/women about it. Find out if there are other people in your area wanting to have chickens. Attend zoning meetings about any livestock and animals they may be holding. You may be able to get your opinion out.

I have personally written several letters to our councilmen and women. Luckily we have some nice ones. They are actually decreasing the amount of land you need for livestock and such. Don't forget to address crowing laws, poultry numbers, cooping, cleaning and other factors.

One of our Mesa rules was chickens had to be fed on a platter or dish.

Yeah...
