<p>Eglus are fine if you enclose them inside a secure run. My coops are installed in secured runs in order to provide more space than provided by the runs sold with most coops.</p> <p> </p> <p>Stocking size on pasture traditionally was approximately 100 birds per acre, with half the yard in use at one time, which gave each bird around 200 square feet.</p> One acre is 43,560 square feet. This did not always discourage cannibalism.
