How to help a crusty chick?

I have a chick that hatched earlier today that is really, really crusty. I tried to rinse off some of the crust, but he/she has something like a feather helmet where fluffy fuzz should be. Any suggestions on how to clean it off?

It will come off by itself in a while, but if you want, get a baby hair brush (they are ultra soft) and wet it and use that to try to brush some of the crusty off.

It won't take all of it off (without traumatizing the poor baby

) but it'll make it a little less.
