How to hide a rooster

I would feed him like crazy for about 2 more weeks then I would flour him and hide him on hot skillet.

Where are you in Illinois? My two neighbors both have roos with crow collars, my one neighbor would be happy to help fit one for you (she's not on byc). We're all in the western burbs.

You can't really hide a rooster due to the noise. They will crow all day, every day. Whether or not you'll get caught depends on where you live, how strict your animal control group is, and how close your neighbors are. I'm not supposed to have roosters, but I also have no close neighbors who mind the noise. I've asked a cop what their policy usually is, and he said that around here, they generally don't care about people keeping roosters until they get a noise complaint.

I love waking up to the sound of the chickens and roosters in our neighborhood. When m neighbor right next door ended up with a rooster (who she ended up giving to our neighbor across the road) i remember laughing when it first started getting his voice. (peter brady puberty lol)

My boy spent months sleeping in a dog kennel in the garage. 10:00 pm until 8:30 am. Told him if he would keep his beak shut he could sleep with the ladies. Problem was by 8:40 am he had serviced all three ladies at least once and crowing about it. Alas he has since moved on to a place with many more ladies to watch over. My three have been much calmer and one went broody less than two weeks after he left.
