How to identify a Spaulding peafowl

Pavo muticus (green) and Pavo cristatus (blue) are very close species which is why their hybrid is fertile!

There are different levels of 'spalding'!
Pavo muticus cross Pavo cristatus = spalding 50%
Spalding 50% cross Pavo muticus = 75% spalding (75% green blood).
 
When we want to make spalding in different colors (Midnight, Jade, Taupe or ... Opal), we use more often muticus roosters !
Because peahens love more tails like this:

They don't like feathers Opal color or Bronze.

But when we work on sex-linked colors, we are forced to use Muticus peahens! To save time!
