How to identify who laid what?

In a smaller flock, it may be easier to identify which hen laid which egg. But what about a larger flock? If I grab an egg from under a hen, that question has obvious answer. But what about the eggs without hens on them, just sitting there for the taking?
I want to know what you do or have done to identify your eggs' momma.

For the most part, I can tell who laid which egg. You have to spend a lot of time in your coop. If you watch the hen lay the egg, pick it up and study it. There are some subtle differences in shape, size, etc. I have a light brahma that puts a swirl on the pointy end of the egg that is different than my other hens.

Well i do spend a lot of time in there, with each chicken, studying their differences in appearence,personality, behaviors. i have 10 pullets, 2 of which i want to grab eggs from to hatch. trying to identify those two were where this post started.
