How to immobilize a hen

I have a hen with bumble foot that I plan to treat at home tomorrow after reading a particularly informative post on here. My only problem is how to hold her immobile while I soak her foot and remove the plug and infection. My hens aren’t used to being picked up and held. I attempted picking her up from her roost and holding her tonight after dark, and she was still pretty flappy and active. Any suggestions are welcome!

A towel would work nicely as long as she can still breathe.

Should I wrap her up in it or just put it over her head?

I would wrap her up to keep the wings still and then you would be able to work on her feet. Make sure she can still breathe and the towel isn’t over her head.
