I currently am taking care of a sick chick. she thinks im her mom and goes crazy when shes not right next to me. i put a t shirt down on my chest and let her sit on it. she can "go" and i just dump it off. BUT... today, she got poo on her leg and beak. i felt so bad because she was trying to run and snuggle in my neck, but i kept trying to push her back to clean her off. she pooped on the shirt, and when i went to dump it it fell on my bed !! 😭 how do i keep her poos under control?! i know i have to deal with her poops, cus she a chicken, thats what they do, but i cant take it!!! im not going to put her outside because its too cold. What do i dooooooo?!! i love her, but this is gross lol 😅

She's too little to control it. I have had adult chickens get off my lap to poop or hold it when in a cage because they didn't want to poop in the cage.

Can you make a little chicken diaper? They make them for full size hens. Maybe look at them online and try to rig something up.

She's a cutie.

Is she your only chick? If so, it might be best to get her a few friends, so they can all poop happily together outside.
We have other chicks. I bring her outside and watch her socialize. Her mama started attacking all of them and the others are able to run away when mama gets in the yard, but she is small and weak and cannot move as quick so i get worried for her. She sleeps with me during the night too because its too cold out. (she is a runt and doesnt have full feathers)

Stop picking her up, it's not something to encourage.
? What do you mean?

Maybe! ive gotten used to her poos. I love her enough to not get mad lol. I know its not her fault 😂❤️

What do you mean? I dont see any bad behaviors from my chickens who like being picked up. They are just friendly and dont end up as chicken noddle soup as often, its better for them in my opinion 🤷‍♀️
You're not hurting the chick. Most of my lap chickens out grow it as they get older but remain easier to handle from the contact.
