How to Keep chickens cool in the summer

Unfortunately, those little prefab coops are often VERY difficult to ventilate. If it's the kind with the attached, covered run you might want to take the siding off the entire wall that faces into the run and replace it with wire.

Can you show us photos of your coop both inside and out?

Well I can't currently attach photos . I will try to add some chicken wire in front of the door and open that during the day! that's a really good Idea!

Ventilation needs to be 24/7, not just during the day.

If it's this type of prefab coop/run combo (i.e. a typical example: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91gaSNj3djL._AC_UL480_QL65_.jpg ), the wall that's facing into the run portion can be mostly replaced with wire to provide a lot of ventilation that is protected from the weather by the roof.

There is a window in my coop, it's just not enough. I will put the chicken wire in.

Chicken wire isn’t predator proof just keep that in mind!

I babysit my chickens as do my neighbors. There's always someone out there!
