How to keep the girls away from front of house

We live on 1 acre, and let our three girls free range whenever we are home. They always want to be near the house and make a mess around the walkways and front door. My wife always shoos them away but they just come right back. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I accept poops on the walkway, no biggie, can hose them off. For the porch I use a baby gate across the steps and the small green garden fence up the side of the steps.

But they other posters are right...fence is best. They come to the front door b/c they know you are the foodbags, so they are wishing and hoping and working and planning...to get food when you come out of your coop (your house).

Mine love to come up on the deck and peer in the glass door at us. We never have a problem with poops on the deck though, because we have two dogs.....

I know, gross, right?
