My neighbors Guinea hens won't stay out of my flower beds. They have eaten all my tulips and the bulbs, they keep digging and scratching all the mulch. The have scratched out most of my creeping phlox or they cover it with mulch.
Our neighbors are older and very nice people, and he says they have them for all the noise they make they are good watch dogs. The noise doesn't bother me but I'm getting sick of them scratching my plants to death.
They even did it when when had a dog, even though she would chase them they always came back. Our dog has passed and how Im always chasing them out of the flower beds. And they always come right back.
I;ve tried windmills, and plastic bags tied to the garden flag poles. They have't worked. and they do fly so fencing would be useless. My dad said sprinkle lime around. I don't know if that would hurt them or not and I don't really want to see white all over the mulch.
Any Ideas what to do to keep them out of the flower beds?
