Oh, wow! It is full of Heritage RIR eggs from Taterschickens. I am all excited about them. I am going to candle everything tomorrow, day 10, and see how they look.
I have three Wheaten Americana hens who lay really pretty blue eggs, but they are a little young, the eggs are still a little small, and although I have some matching Wheaten roosters, who is to say that they were only with them? I also have a Welsummer rooster in there, and some energetic banties. So you never know.
But later on, when I segregate them from the others, I'll let you know and if you want some I will be happy to send them out. I have no idea how well they are going to do at laying, just that the eggs are really pretty.
I sell eggs, and I like to have some nice dark, brown eggs and some green and blue eggs, just to make the egg carton look pretty.
I confess that I couldn't resist putting two of those blue eggs in there with the RIR eggs, but they may well be mutts. They might not, though, because those Americana roosters are really aggressive. In fact, too much so, as they pester those poor quiet little hens way too much.
