How to know if she is a he?

I have three BO chicks, 4 weeks old. One chick is louder, larger, and a bit meaner than the others. Is she actually a HE? What can I look for?
Also... is it time to turn off the heat lamp? Its about 24 inches off the ground, in one side of the brooder. Thanks!!!

If you post a picture of your birds the folks here can most likely tell you which if any are roos. There are some people here that are really good at it. Once they are pretty much fully feathered you can remove the light. Since I live in a really warm place I usually have to remove my heat lamps a bit sooner than others.

@ 4 weeks you can't tell. Usually by 8 any roos start to get a red comb. The girls comb will not turn red until much older, the roo's comb goes first.
