Mixed color Ameraucana are also Easter Eggers. My Easter Eggers and Easter Egger mixes sell really well. I keep the till they are about 4 to 6 weeks of age so that they are off heat and can be sexed pretty accurately. Cockerels stay till they are big enough for the freezer. Pullets sell within hours of listing them on local buy/sell facebook pages.Mine seem to be a mix between blue/silver
Meyer is the only large hatchery that offers true Ameraucanas. $22 per sexed pullet. All other hatcheries have Easter Eggers at a fraction of the cost.Well I plan to keep my eggers, but very disappointed that a well known hatchery is selling eggers as ameracanas. But I do have 3 pure ameracana chickens and 7 eggers now. So I can move forward with that.
MyPetChicken, Cackle, and Sandhill now offer true Ameraucana as well.Meyer is the only large hatchery that offers true Ameraucanas. $22 per sexed pullet. All other hatcheries have Easter Eggers at a fraction of the cost.
Hatchery Easter Eggers are not Ameraucana crosses. That implies that the hatcheries did have true Ameraucana at some point. Most hatchery stock predates the creation of the Ameraucana breed. They just never bothered to update their marketing.Eater eggers can lay blue eggs as they are an Ameraucana cross.
