My three-year old Speckled Sussex hens Judy and Sylvia conducted a team effort yesterday when Sylvia needed to lay her egg. Judy was there solely to provide support to Sylvia in her efforts since she left with Sylvia after the egg was laid.
It was rather a tricky affair since Judy repositioned herself to completely cover Sylvia. I don't know how Sylvia managed it without being able to stand up as the egg came out the chute.
