So I have two ducklings, although now they’re almost fully feathered and grown, along with a chicken (that’s about 3 months old) and the two ducks seem to have separation anxiety with each other when separated. I don’t separate them a lot of course, but sometimes i can only hold one at a time or they’re apart for a moment for some other reason- but when they’re not together they scream and quack and can’t be calmed down, so does anyone have any tips on getting them used to being separated or at least get them to calm down? I’m worried that this will continue in the future and Ill have to take one to the vet or something and they will be anxious and scream continuously :( they seem to trust me but they didn’t imprint as strongly towards me as previous ducks.

Let them be at the moment. Ducklings need each other in the big scary world. But they likely will grow less tied to each other as they mature. Of course, there are some ducks that bond for life, but most ducks are not so tightly tied to each other

i appreciate this thank you :) hopefully they’ll learn that nothing is gonna happen to them or their friend over time
