I have a Spangled Hamburg Rooster. I have bred him, so from an early age he was placed into a cat carry cage. He is quite happy to go into his straw packed box every night. The limited height prevents him from giving a fill blown crow in the morning. At 8 am he is let out to free range with his girls. I have built a shelf for his box in the coop which is higher than where the girls roost, so that he still thinks he is top roo. Hope this helps.
