How to make a Silkie Go Broody!

I can't wait until my week old silkies go broody

Well, that is if they are girls

Fascinating...

Does this often work or is this case a one off? I can't really afford a incubator at the moment and have been considering getting a couple of silky hens as one I had years ago was a baby hatching machine. But I thought I would have to wait until a hen came broody, I didn't think I could basically command one too.

Please keep us informed of this as its very interesting.

Broody poop is that giant poo a hen does when she gets off the nest to eat and drink. (A broody hen holds her poo in to keep her eggs clean.) My silkie, though, still does the broody poo even though her babies are two months old. LOL

Back on topic, I never thought of nudging her back into broodiness... gotta try it! Woot! I wasn't looking forward to the whole incubator thing, especially since I experienced how nice it is to have mama hen do all the work. LOL
