One of our Rhode Island Reds, "Miss Cluck", is limping and can't walk well at all. She has lived the last couple of years with almost no toenails (her feet bled and they fell out) but she has always walked just fine. We're not sure what happened to her. However, when I was getting hay for the horses, I believe I may have *possibly* stepped on her feet, though she made no noise of pain or anything. I just felt like I had stepped on something and looked down and there she was, but with our messy barn, it could have been anything!
I am wanting to make some sort of a splint for her leg in the morning and caging her, but am not sure how to go about making one at all. I was thinking maybe I could use a nail file? How should one be made? Thanks!
