How to Make Apple Cider

Cider is raw pressed, Juice can be made with a steam juicer. You can freeze the juice or can it to drink or get brave to make jelly. I just made some sause and it is still in the canner, has 10 more minutes! Hope it works, its my first ever canned anything. If it turns out like my coop after I researched it all on this site it should be good. I only canned 6 pints and have about 2 pints in the fridge. It goes so fast around here I haven't canned any. I had to start some where. I was thinking on steam jucing the rest that I have and try some jelly. The stove is my mountain of the moment!

Okay so I put the apples in the press raw? Then just keep pressing them down till no more liquid comes out right? Then after I collect the juice I lost ya on the steam thingy. Do I take the juice and heat it on the stove or something? I make applesauce all the time and would love to do cider just once b/c I have the press and a huge crate of apples. Also, if it turns to vinager no problem b/c I use ACV in my waterers for my 300+ chickens once a week and it will definitely get used if ya know what I mean

Oh NO. Cider and juice are two differnt things. Sorry for that. For juice you just cup up the apples and run them throught the juicer. Apples go for 90 Minutes. Look online for a copy of back to basics nutri- steamer. Cider is just raw. There is a way to to heat pasturise it.

don't know how to make the cider (ok, I've read about it, but not done it). but I know this... if you have hard cider and want more kick, you can make hard cider into apple jack. leave it out on the porch on a sub-freezing night (in a large mouth covered container, something non-breakable.) you want ice to form, but don't want it to freeze solid. pour off what doesn't freeze (that'll be where most of the alcohol is... that's the Apple Jack) and what's frozen can be thawed and drunk separately (should be low alcohol in this part.) multiple passes of freezing and separating out the ice makes for stronger apple jack. it's sort of a poor-man's distilation process. stronger liquor without a still.
